NCC Inter Unit Best Troop Competition

The NCC Delhi Directorate Inter Unit Best Troop Competition – 2026 was conducted to assess the overall efficiency, discipline, drill standards, teamwork, leadership qualities, and participation of NCC cadets in major activities such as TSC, RDC, PM Rally, and various social service initiatives.

Army Public School, Shankar Vihar, represented by a well-trained Junior Division (JD) NCC Troop under the able guidance of the Principal, ANO, CO, and PI Staff, displayed excellent discipline, smart turnout, and outstanding teamwork throughout the competition.

Competing against leading schools across the Directorate, APS Shankar Vihar secured the 2nd Runner-Up position, bringing pride and laurels to the institution.

The school team was felicitated at the prestigious Lok Niwas during the traditional 'At Home' event on 03-February-2026. The trophy was presented by Hon’ble Lt. Governor, Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena and was received by the Principal, ANO, and two NCC cadets.

Introduction

Army Public School, Shankar Vihar actively volunteered for the Vidyanjali Programme during the academic session 2025–26, demonstrating a strong commitment towards mentoring and supporting neighbouring schools through academic, co-curricular, and skill-based initiatives.

Under this programme, APS Shankar Vihar was selected as the Mentor School, while Dr. B. R. Ambedkar School, Delhi Cantonment (Mehram Nagar) was designated as the Mentee School.

In recognition of its consistent efforts and impactful contribution, APS Shankar Vihar was felicitated by DIET R. K. Puram under Category 5 Schools and received the Best Mentor–Mentee School Award.

Vidyanjali Samman Programme Ceremony

The award ceremony was held on 22 January 2026 at DIET R. K. Puram. The programme was graced by Ms. Rita Sharma, Director (SCERT) and Dr. Mukesh Yadav, Secretary (SCERT).

INTACH Filmit India Film Festival 2026

Frames of the Past, Visions for the Future

“Heritage is not only preserved through monuments, but also through stories that inspire future generations.”

Five students from Army Public School, Shankar Vihar had the enriching opportunity to attend the INTACH Filmit India Film Festival 2026, a unique platform that beautifully blended heritage, culture, and filmmaking. The festival showcased student-made films from across the nation, highlighting India’s diverse traditions, festivals, and cultural narratives.

A proud moment for the school was when Liza Mary John (Class VIII A) addressed the audience, sharing her experience of creating a film on Onam, the harvest festival of Kerala. Her journey involved family collaboration, interviews, scripting, and visual storytelling.

All participating students were awarded certificates by INTACH in recognition of their creativity, technical skills, and contribution to heritage awareness through filmmaking.
